Jenkins Marine supported Lankelma by providing movement and towage support of the Sandpiper jackup vessel for geotechnical site investigation completed at Hengistbury Head, Dorset. The long groyne at Hengistbury Head was closed to the public for safety reasons following a detailed inspection of the structure using sonar and laser equipment in 2019. The structure was revealed to be in a very poor condition. Read More
Our new tug ‘DMS Condor’ has commenced a 9 month charter this month in the beautiful Isle of Skye, off the West coast of Scotland. As part of this project she has double towed two of our spud legged deck pontoons: JML 50 (50m x 14m x 3m) and JML 30 (30m x 11m x 2.5m) to Uig where the harbour is being redeveloped.

We are currently working with clients and main contractors to provide marine support on a project to place scour protection rock under the historic Rockley Point Rail Viaduct. To maintain the safety and security of this viaduct, railway engineers decided to install scour protection using heavy rock infill placed against the retaining walls either side of the bridge to reduce scour and provide a gravity base. This project involved both the Doreen Dorward, our 50-tonne crane barge suited for piling projects and the Stour as a piles/materials transportation barge. Jenkins Marine has commissioned ship building specialists Manor Marine to manufacture and install two new wheelhouse and accommodation modules for the Split Hopper Barges, ‘Nab’ and ‘Needles’. The superstructures will be manufactured in Portland over the coming months, with an aim to complete the project by Summer 2021. Read More
