Marine dredging and dredge support vessels

Dredging Services

Jenkins Marine offers dredging services and operates a variety of dredging support vessels. All our vessels can be chartered to support your dredging project requirements and we are happy to consider projects from 100m³ to 100,000m³.

This includes our support self-propelled split hopper barges and back-hoe excavator on our multi-cat vessels there they all have spud leg anchor systems onboard. Our split hopper barges range in capacity from 150m3 to 300m3 and can be used for beach replenishment work. Custom made hardwood protective mats are available for handling small rock and stone material, or for the handling of contaminated sediments.

We are experienced dredging contractors and are pleased to discuss all aspects of your dredging requirements. We are a turnkey provider from the design phase to completion which include any necessary hydrographic surveys, consents or environmental permissions required for your project..

Digital Dredging

Jenkins Marine use the James Fisher Prolec dig control system for dredging work. The system can be programmed with a customer’s detailed dredge design profile and existing seabed survey. The excavator operator can control the bucket with much greater accuracy and has a visual display in the cab to show where they are and the progress over their dredge area.

Specialised Dredging Services

With many years dredging experience across the UK and Northern Europe we are able to offer advice and support for your dredge licensing applications, offer consultation and oversight on the project itself and handle all regulatory requirements on your behalf. This includes both capital and maintenance dredging projects. We are privileged to have worked on dredging projects with a wide range of government, corporate and private clients.

Dredging goes digital Prolec digital dredge system

Significant benefits are found when dredging with Prolec installed by ensuring optimum accuracy and efficiency covering the target site. Digging slopes and pockets is made simpler, and there is a greater level of control when dredging near contaminated or sensitive material. Regular progress information can be sent to clients and any isolated points of significance, such as underground obstructions, cables and outfalls, can be marked and displayed to the operator to assist identification and positioning.

Prolec Digital Dredging

The dual hemisphere GPS receivers are even sensitive enough to automatically adjust for changes in tidal levels throughout the day. Although we have been using versions of this technology for over 10 years the advances in data processing and equipment means less technical dependency and improved ease of use for all involved.
