Jenkins Marine’s dredging teams will be kept busy for the next few months supporting our clients in the South Coast area of operations, along with some projects around the South Eastern coast, as another packed dredging season gets underway.
The season started with work at MDL’s Cobbs Quay and continues with work scheduled at some of the local marinas for Poole Harbour Commission. We then plan to head out to The Solent where the dredging will start in the Hamble River and at marinas within Portsmouth Harbour and on Chichester Harbour.
On conclusion of these our dredging team will move over to the Cowes area on the Isle of Wight to support our clients situated on the island with their requirements.
The main dredging fleet consists of our primary dredging vessel, the Doreen Dorward, equipped with 50t long reach excavator and Prolec dredge control system, and assisted by our two 300m³ split hopper barges, Nab and Needles. To optimise our operations and allow for increased production the split hoppers share the transit to the disposal sites to optimise the performance of the Doreen Dorward.
This year our self-propelled grab barge CH Horn will continue a separate campaign for dredging works as a self-contained dredging solution with a long reach excavator and small hopper to allow us to carry out smaller dredging service or support operations for our clients in areas where space is limited.
Our main dredging team will be busy up until the end of April/ Early May.
If you have any requirements for specialist dredging or any other marine operations please feel free to get in touch to see where we can help.
