Jenkins Marine have been successful in securing a significant new long term dredge contract with Marina owners and operators Marina Developments Limited (MDL).
As a large international marina operator, MDL own many marinas on the south coast of England, including Plymouth, Poole, Southampton, Hamble, Chichester and Ipswich. Jenkins Marine have signed a new 3 year contract to provide maintenance dredging services for the Solent based sites, and surrounding areas.

Jenkins Marine recently completed a successful 20,000m3 dredge at Woolverstone Marina near Ipswich for MDL, earlier in 2019.
The new contract is expected to require dredging of between 30,000m3 – 50,000m3 annually over the various sites. Works are due to commence at Cobbs Quay Marina in Poole in early November 2019.
The 30m long Backhoe dredger ‘Doreen Dorward’ complete with 50t long reach excavator will be used to work on the contract, along with two 300m3 capacity self propelled split hopper barges ‘Nab’ and ‘Needles’. Hopper barge ‘Nab’ has recently completed refurbishment in dry dock including; UHP Blasting and painting of hull areas, complete overhaul of hydraulic system and split rams, hopper seal renewal, thruster rebuild and electronics upgrade, so is ready to get to work!
