We were delighted to be asked to provide a vessel for the first-ever Work Boat Open Day, held by Poole Harbour Commission at its work boat pontoon on Poole Quay. Visitors had the chance to tour working vessels, meet crews, and learn more about the essential roles they play in and around Poole Harbour.
We sent our utility vessel Stour to represent us and the work we do in and around the harbour. Stour is an extremely versatile ‘multi-category’ vessel. Offering shallow draft, a powerful deck crane, spud legs, and substantial deck space, it is ideally suited to diving, construction, dredging support duties, salvage, and survey work – all vital harbour activities.

During the course of the afternoon nearly 300 visitors toured the vessels and chatted to the crews which, besides Stour, included RNLI Tamar All Weather Lifeboat and crew, a Poole Harbour Commission tug and pilot boat, and a Dorset Police Vessel.
