Originally built in 2012, our swim-ended, rectangular, flat top deck cargo barge Isabella S began life working predominately working at the Forth bridge construction project. Deployed as a long term crane barge platform and complimented with 4 x 25t anchor handling winches, along with the setup of 5 tonne stockless anchors to allow for the precise positioning required for the project. Our new tug ‘DMS Condor’ has commenced a 9 month charter this month in the beautiful Isle of Skye, off the West coast of Scotland. As part of this project she has double towed two of our spud legged deck pontoons: JML 50 (50m x 14m x 3m) and JML 30 (30m x 11m x 2.5m) to Uig where the harbour is being redeveloped.

We have been pleased to work with marina pontoon suppliers, Intermarine. End clients, John Lewis, operate a small passenger ferry to their stunning historic Hotel (a former defensive castle built by Henry VIII) located on Brownsea Island within Poole Harbour. To facilitate passenger ferry operations a new floating landing pontoon was commissioned and Jenkins Marine have been awarded the contract to install the pontoon on the historic site. Read More
We are currently working with clients and main contractors to provide marine support on a project to place scour protection rock under the historic Rockley Point Rail Viaduct. To maintain the safety and security of this viaduct, railway engineers decided to install scour protection using heavy rock infill placed against the retaining walls either side of the bridge to reduce scour and provide a gravity base. Jenkins Marine are currently back at the historic pier at Swanage, Dorset where some of the original timber piles and associated structures need replacing to allow continued safe use. We have successfully completed piling works for the pier over several years, including emergency work to the pier in 2013 following strong winds and rough seas that year which damaged the mid-section so badly it was near collapse... Winter dredging is well underway again with the new look split hopper barges Nab and Needles both back hard at work in the Solent area. Working together with our 30m x 9m backhoe dredger ‘Doreen Dorward’ and her onboard 50t long reach excavator, they enable dredging to continue around the clock to support marinas on the South Coast. They will be kept busy until Easter 2022 dredging Marinas!
