We have been hard at work dredging at Ashlett Sailing Club near Calshot, Southampton, to restore the waterways to previously maintained depths. Winter dredging is well underway again with the new look split hopper barges Nab and Needles both back hard at work in the Solent area. Working together with our 30m x 9m backhoe dredger ‘Doreen Dorward’ and her onboard 50t long reach excavator, they enable dredging to continue around the clock to support marinas on the South Coast. Jenkins Marine was instructed by Isle of Wight Council to carry out a capital dredge in the River Medina where it approaches Newport harbour to increase the depth of the navigable channel. The full dredge length was over 500m from start point to its finish in Newport harbour. Read More
